Solar sail Operations Linking Academic Researchers (SOLAR)
Team Bios - Brian Glover

Brian is a senior
electrical engineering student at the School of Mines and Technology in South
Dakota. He has been an active
proponent of space research at the School of Mines.
His special interest is the application of ultra lightweight thin films
and beamed microwave energy to space engineering problems.
Brian’s
academic interests are centered around communications, materials, and propulsion
systems. He is currently involved
in designing high impedance surfaces for improved communication systems,
investigating new methods of nanotube synthesis, and developing technology for
economically isolating ultra wide band wireless networks.
Future
plans include theoretical work on a 100-m2 thin-film microwave
antenna and a digitally programmable microwave filter.
When Brian is not pursuing engineering interests, he enjoys fly-fishing, restoring classic cars, rock climbing and getting to know new people.
